Abena N. Asomaning Phd
Director
Abena has a PhD from the University of Lille, France, specialising in Science Economics. She is currently the Managing Director for the Africa Environmental Sanitation Consult (AFESC) in Ghana and a part-time lecturer at the University of Professional Studies in Ghana.
Abena has previously been the coordinator representing the Government of Ghana on the UN World Food Programme in its partnership to reduce malnutrition among children under five years and nursing mothers in the most impoverished Northern regions under the Ministry of Health. She was also the coordinator for the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) initiative — a flagship Ministry of Health project.
She recently managed a $1.3 million project called the Data Audit and Validation Exercise (DAVE), collecting comprehensive household and corporate client data on solid waste management in the Greater Accra Region, involving all 29 districts and four thousand field officers.
Under her leadership, she led a team supporting completion of an ITMO (carbon credits) agreement worth €20 million with the Swiss Government. Abena has won multiple local and international awards for her leadership and humanitarian work.
Walter Segbedzi
Non-Executive Director
Walter Segbedzi is a dynamic cross-trained Project Management Consultant with several years of diversified experience in construction and project management, contract administration, field management, team building for projects, value engineering, and budget control.
He has vast experience in quality assurance, quality control and resource management and has recently advised and supervised several high-valued projects.
Walter holds MSc. Construction Management and BSc. Operations and Project Management. He is also a certified international project manager and a certified member of the American Academy of Project Management.
Sam Thamin
Project Director
Sam is a highly accomplished multi-lingual Project Director. He holds an American university degree in Construction Engineering and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), with vast experience in design and construction project management.
Sam has successfully completed projects in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East for leading construction companies including Piccini Group, Bowmer & Kirkland, Balfour Beatty, Kharafi Holdings, and International Bechtel Co. Ltd.
Sam's key expertise includes construction design and project/programme management, project planning, cost control, contracts and subcontracts management, risk analysis, quality control and construction health and safety. He has managed the design and construction of nine hotel projects, two urban development projects, two hospitals, three housing projects, an Olympic stadium and a championship golf course.
